Welcome to the Davidson High School website.
We at Davidson are very excited about the Band and the Fine Arts
Department at DHS. Davidson continues to be on the cutting edge
of education in Mobile County, Alabama with our EPIC
(Engineering Pathways Integrated Curriculum) program, the IB
(International Baccalaureate) program, new state of the art
auditorium, outstanding Band, Visual Arts programs, and new
Theatre and Dance teachers.
Davidson High School Band has been one of the
preeminent bands in the south for many years. Davidson competes
in two or three regional marching competitions each year. And
DHS has shown a consistent level of excellence in these
competitions under the direction of Tony Pike and Tim Beattie.
Davidson has featured many students that have
won competitions and ranked as some of Alabama's best. Each year
we have students participate in All-State Bands, Mobile County
Honor Bands, and many university Honor Bands including Auburn
University, University of Alabama, University of Southern
Mississippi, and Troy State University.
Due to its reputation, Davidson Band Students
are actively recruited by various colleges for scholarship
opportunities. Students have received full or partial
scholarships to numerous Division I and Division II schools. In
the past several years students have received scholarships to
LSU, Vanderbilt, Alabama, Auburn, Troy State, South
Alabama, University of Mobile, Southern Mississippi, Alabama A &
M, and Jackson State University
